Abstract

From the perspective of Jewish Visual Culture Studies, this article examines the televisual (self-)representation of Jewishness in the German television series Die Zweiflers (2024). With a focus on the visual representation and intersectional negotiation of post-migrant positions and marginalised voices, the article explores the extent to which the images of Jewishness presented in the series deviate from common (stereotypical) notions of Jewish difference and thereby possibly generate new representational forms of Jewish reality(ies) that can be understood as post-migrant. In doing so, this study will illustrate that the six-part mini-series is both an artefact of Jewish Visual Culture as well as a post-migrant media artefact.
