Abstract

Transnational Projections of the Precarious

Precarious living and working conditions in the neoliberal society are also a topical issue in the performing arts. Against the background of current developments in European theatre, this contribution discusses the work of René Pollesch and of Japanese writer and director

Toshiki Okada. Both perform precarity in the sense of economic uncertainty, and both stage as precarious characters connotated in particular as female.
