Sichtbarmachungen? Über harmonikale Strukturen als Universalmuster

Abstract

Visualizations? On Harmonic Structures as Universal Patterns

This article analyzes the role of  “harmonics” in western art historical discourse. Hövelmeyer takes the work of the psychiatrist Leo Bader as an example of the role of images, the discourse on the artist, and the interrelationship of artistic and scientific authority. We see how the historical and contemporary position of the male scientist is embedded in aesthetic premises, to which little reflection has been given.
